Ark Ranch is an organic smallholding based in a quiet, scenic part of West Cork. The farm has been named after Noah's Ark and our goal is to be self sufficient, promote biodiversity and provide sanctuary for wildlife.
We grow most of our own vegetables using manure provided by our donkeys and horses. Our hens roam freely on the farm, herbs and wild plants are foraged to make soap and face/hand cream and over 100 trees were planted for coppicing providing us with firewood. All woodcraft has been handcrafted onsite using locally grown trees, reclaimed timber or driftwood and natural non-toxic finishes.
We manage our land with nature in mind, every year we plant more trees and hedges, close off areas for rewilding and we have created a wildlife pond which is now home to newts, frogs and many insects. We are always very excited when wildlife calls our land home. You can spot all of Ireland's mammals, amphibians, reptiles and many rare birds on your walks on the farm and in the woods.
